Home & Garden Rules
All entries must be pre-registered no later than 8/9/2023 with no exceptions
- Bring pre-registered entries to the Home & Garden Building on:
Monday, August 21st | 12pm–6pm
Tuesday, August 22nd | 12pm–7pm
Wednesday, August 23rd | 9am–1pm (no exceptions)
Food item entries are to be dropped off on Wednesday. This can include non-food entries. - Judging will take place on Wednesday Evening
- No exhibitors are to be present while articles are being judged
- All premiums will be paid on or before October 1st
- All entries must be picked up by the following times:
Sunday, August 27th | 6pm–8pm
Monday, August 28th | 5pm–7pm - ALL items not picked up by 7pm on Monday, August 28th, will be disposed of at the discretion of the Superintendent

Home & Garden Exhibit Rules
- All articles must be made and owned by the exhibitor
- Articles cannot be used or have been worn
- Items must have been made within the twelve months preceding the Fair
- An exhibitor is limited to one entry under each heading.
- Exhibitors cannot compete for more than one premium with the same item
- Commercial, industrial, or professional bakers are not eligible to enter bread, pastry, or canned goods
- Food entered by two members of the same household of the same variety will not be judged
- Superintendent has the right to reject any article that is not in suitable condition for exhibiting
- Judges will not award premiums to articles that are not worthy unless otherwise specified. The judge’s decision is final
- Rosette ribbons will be awarded in the following categories:
Best-in-Show for each Department
Best-in-Show for each Youth Department/Category - A recipe and/or list of ingredients must accompany all food products (on Brooklyn Fair Recipe Card)
- All exhibits must contain and conform to the exact quantity specified in the premium list. Failure to comply will disqualify such an exhibit.
- Exhibitors will bring their own containers for flowers
- Plates for vegetables will be furnished by the Fair to ensure uniformity and enhance the attractiveness of the exhibit
- No glass for framed handwork
- No coloring by number or coloring book pages
- All photos must be matted, no glass
- The decision of the judge is final
